The Train (ing) is coming!

Or rather I'm going to the training.  This Saturday sees my first attendance at a Stampin'Up training event that is being held in Reading.  I am looking forward to it very much, but I am a little snowed under with the swaps!!  These are also my first proper swaps made in large numbers, and I am trying to use goodies from the new Summer mini catalogue, available to the UK officially on May 1st.  That's one of the great things about being a demo, we do get to order some things in advance and to have a play and make some lovely samples with all the new booty, and there are some fabulous new products in the mini...........but you will have to wait until next week to feast your eyes on what the Summer Mini has to offer............! But there are a few new things on the next few piccies if you don't tell that I showed you! (wink, wink!!)

A couple of weeks ago I went to my first Inkaholics shoebox swap, with Jane, Caroline and Trevor and we all sat together chatted drank tea and made each others card designs.  It was lovely to meet them all and I really enjoyed putting together their lovely cards.  Jane. Trevor and Caroline had all chosen the same stamp set from the new Summer Mini for their cards and as it was one I hadn't ordered it was lovely to get to use it and it has a co-ordinating punch that is going to be a new favourite I'm certain.
My pre-order hadn't yet arrived so my card was using product from the main Idea Book and Catalogue.  I managed to scare everyone with the amount of punching and sticking involved on my florist shop window card, oh yes and there was masking too  - ummm!,  note to self, enough with the build a bungalow card thing already!!!!!  Less is more and I will take away a lesson well learned from the shoebox swap!  Thanks for your patience though Inkaholics teamies!!!

So back to the Reading swaps - I could be here some time............................................!

Baby, Baby, oh Baby, Baby!!

New Baby and Christenings are such fun to create for...............

Yesterday evening was spent in the company of some lovely ladies making some very pretty items for some very lucky little people and their parents.  The idea came from my memory keeping roots and I wanted to design a class that had this element.  The ladies made a long keepsake box with a lid and a pretty belly band , containing 3 small matchbox style mini boxes that had a selection of small labels that could be added by the parents.  The labels were Hospital Bracelet, First Curl, Birth Announcement, First Booties etc.  The Signing Book was for guests at the Christening to write a small message - 'words of wisdom' to the child. Another lovely keepsake for Parents and Children to look back on in years to come.  And the pretty dressing table card was cased and I will link back here when I remember where I saw this.  All in all, very cute.  The Ladies used Nursery Nest Designer Paper and Nursery Nest Quick Accents. (this only arrived during the day of my class!! Phew!!) My samples were made with other papers but you can get the gist!!
